A Note & Recipe from the Roastery

Summer is finally here in Vermont! While the two of us are busy in the roastery turning out plenty of fresh roasted coffees, summer also finds us taking our morning coffees to the garden, visiting farmstands, spending time with friends, and going on impromptu road trips and quick dips in the icy cold swimming hole. Our go-to coffee drink in the heat of summer is a shaken maple espresso. It’s cold, bold, full of caffeine, and always hits the spot.

To make your own shaken maple espresso: Combine equal parts espresso and half-and-half (or your milk of choice), then add a healthy amount of maple syrup in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake well, strain over fresh ice, and serve in a short glass or mug.

This summer we are celebrating our first year of ownership of Kingdom Coffee Roasters. Thank you for your enthusiastic support of fresh, locally roasted coffee. We hope you find your own way of enjoying and exploring all that the Northeast Kingdom has to offer this summer! -A+C @ KCR
